Dave Kerr | Founder and Managing Partner
Dave founded Kerr Consulting & Support in 1987 in Iowa, and moved the headquarters to The Woodlands, TX in 1998. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Truman State University, at which time he was selected as one of the top U.S. graduates by Accounting Today Magazine. Dave began his career in accounting with Ernst & Whinney in Honolulu. Dave’s expertise encompasses manufacturing, distribution, non-profits, legal firms, accounting firms, and staffing companies. Dave is married with six children – two of which were adopted from China. He is very active in promoting adoption and Christian foster care, and men’s church organizations. He loves to golf, and raises South American Cichlid fish.
Koray Ozturk | Chief Technology Officer and Partner
Koray began his career in New York City in international business and accounting, continued his career at distribution and technology companies in New Jersey and Michigan. After operating the Kerr Consulting office in Michigan for two years, he relocated to the Houston headquarters in 2003. Besides being a natural serial entrepreneur, his areas of expertise are systems integration, databases, information technology infrastructure planning, and all aspects of business systems automation including ERP and Customer Relationship Management systems. He has an MBA in Management Information Systems from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan an he is also serving as member of board of directors for innovative technology companies. Koray is passionate about driving the change and progress in enterprises Swimming, running and traveling are amongst his favorite activities.
Bob Foster | Consultant and Partner
Bob has been a partner at Kerr Consulting since 1995, working out of The Woodlands office. Certified in CYMA, Sage Pro, and SageCRM, Bob brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting software field. Prior to entering the accounting software field, Bob was the Business Administrator for a large church in Tempe, AZ.Bob is married with grown children and is a Deacon in his congregation. His outside interests include carpentry; in addition, he is a Crew Leader for Habitat for Humanity, and volunteers at Rebuilding Together Houston.
Vince Stark | Consultant and Partner
Vince comes from a long accounting and computer background, working his way up as a bookkeeper and controller for various companies before finally coming to Kerr Consulting in 2003. Focusing on CYMA, he is an expert in Payroll, HR and Time & Attendance software.Vince lives in Wisconsin with his wife and kids, now grown. Their home, built in 1896, has turned him into a “handy-man” which he takes on with good humor. Vince is very active in his church, and loves to spend time with his family. He enjoys watching football, cooking, and outdoor barbequing.
Ian Cook | Consultant and Partner
Ian joined Kerr Consulting as a partner in June of 2007. He worked with Sage products in the UK for 10 years as an end user in the role of controller in manufacturing and marine management. He has been an Accpac consultant since 1997. Ian has successfully implemented accounting and ERP systems in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. Ian has taught music (brass and strings) in his spare time. He volunteers in various church groups, enjoys watching sports and playing golf, and enjoys time with his dogs. Ian is married and enjoys home improvement projects.
Stan Kumer, CPA | Consultant and Partner
Stan is a CPA who joined Kerr Consulting in 2006, bringing a wealth of practical ‘real-world’ knowledge and appreciation for accounting systems in a variety of fields. Working as a software consultant since 1984, he specializes in Not-For-Profit organizations, Manufacturing and Wholesale-distribution companies. As well as being a controller, he was the Audit Partner of a CPA firm for 10 years. Known for his “bed-side manner” approach with his clientele, he works with Sage 300, Sage X3, and leverages his knowledge of manufacturing for MISys and AutoSimply software. Stan is the Swiss Army knife of Kerr Consulting. Stan is blessed with his wife, two grown children and one grandchild. Stan loves woodworking and spending time with his family. He can honestly say that his career has been his hobby & passion.
Randy Swearengin, CPA | Consultant and Partner
Randy has been a partner at Kerr Consulting since 1999, working out of our Kansas City office. His areas of expertise are franchisees, distribution, HRMS/Payroll, as well as Not-for-profit organizations. Randy graduated from Evangel University with a degree in Accounting and Computer Science, and has served as the Controller for a college and other non-profits, as well as a regional bank.Randy is married with two children, and enjoys golf, tennis, and just about any other sport. He is very involved with his church.
Pat Lavine | Consultant and Partner
When it comes to Not-for-Profit Accounting software consulting, there is no one better than Pat Lavine. His enormous compassion and personal energy for the social issues many Non-Profits face, is the reason why he is the best around. Since 1991 he has been working with organizations around the country and abroad on various products such as Sage Fixed Assets. Pat joined Kerr Consulting in 2010, where he says, “the more complex the accounting, the better.” Proudly born and raised in Texas all his life, Pat and his wife have two grown daughters and grandchildren. He has a BBA in Accounting and MBA in Healthcare Management. He loves rare coin collecting, especially Carson City Morgan dollars.
Peter K. Ristau | Consultant and Partner
Peter K. Ristau is the former president of Relational Solutions, Inc., an award winning reseller of Sage Pro ERP™. Peter has been integral in the development and growth of source code and customization in the accounting software community. Peter was a charter member and leading instructor worldwide of the Sage Pro ERP products. His relaxed style and refreshing humor have made him a sought after speaker at workshops, conferences and seminars throughout North America. Mr Ristau speaks on a wide variety of topics ranging from Object Oriented Programming to Christian Apologetics and Theology in the 21st Century.Peter makes his home with his wife Lois in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. He enjoys bicycling and boating with his five grown children and seven grandchildren.
Sylvia Bennett, MBA | Partner
Sylvia joined the partnership in June of 2008 after moving to the Houston area to be closer to family. She has enjoyed a successful career as a Chief Financial Officer handling multiple and varied corporations in the Rio Grande Valley. Sylvia received her BA from Texas A&M International at Laredo, Texas and received her MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Sylvia has over 25 years experience managing financial operations and has extensive knowledge setting up accounting systems. She is a Quick Books Certified Pro Advisor and a Certified CYMA Consultant.Sylvia is married with two grown children. She is a member of the East Montgomery County Rotary Club.
Rick Adventurado | Partner and IT Consultant
After his military service, Rick joined Kerr Consulting in 2009 and has been Kerr’s Information Technology guru ever since. An expert in his field, Rick worked in various IT positions before coming to Kerr. His greatest strength is in being able to provide an ‘outside IT perspective’ to businesses and quickly implementing those recommendations into reality.Raised in Texas, Rick lives with his wife and four very active kids. A fan of baseball, he helps coach both of his son’s teams. More than anything he loves spending time with his family.
